Description
This exemption was granted to permit Forico Pty Limited to recruit and employ an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to the position of Cadet Forester (at a minimum, one of two Australian Based Apprenticeships being offered) in the North/North West regions operated by Forico Pty Limited, on the basis that:
- the position of Cadet Forester aims to provide employment and career opportunities to young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People in the North/North West regions of Tasmania;
- the position aims to improve the representation and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People in Forico Pty Limited;
- Forico Pty Limited will develop and maintain genuine partnerships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities that align with the deliverables in the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP);
- The recruitment, selection and sourcing activities for the position will include working with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations; and
- The intended recruitment of the position aligns with the opportunities identified in the Reconciliation Action Plan, endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
